Hibs fail in bid to land Derby striker Chris Maguire on loan

Former Aberdeen striker not heading to Easter Road.

According to reports in this morning's tabloids, Hibs have failed in a loan move for Derby County forward Chris Maguire.

The 22-year-old has fallen out-of-favour at Pryde Park following his £400,000 move from Aberdeen last summer.

Hibs boss Pat Fenlon was keen to hand the Scotland international a loan move to get playing football again, but it's thought Derby have knocked back the Hibees bid.

Maguire started his career with the Dons, and was never a prolific goalscorer until his last season at Pittodrie.

He also had a spell on loan at Kilmarnock.
