Hibs duo staying put

Hibernian boss Tony Mowbray has rubbished speculation suggesting midfield duo Kevin Thomson and Scott Brown are on the verge of a £4million switch to Bolton Wanderers.

The Trotters' alleged interest comes after Thomson and Brown were also linked with Sheffield United, but Mowbray expects the 21-year-olds to be at Easter Road after Thursday's transfer deadline.

"I would suggest there would have to be pretty head-turning figures if anything was to happen and I'm not anticipating that," he told the Edinburgh Evening News.

"Kevin and Scott have had to deal with this sort of thing for a while but I'd suggest it hasn't been too unsettling for them.

"My message to them, as it has always been, is to strive to be the best they can and that's what they've been getting on with.

"They are both bright boys and they know that if something is going to happen it will happen. But I'm not anticipating them going anywhere."
