Hibs display angers Hughes

Manager John Hughes slammed his Hibernian players after they lost 2-0 at struggling Hamilton on Sunday.

Hibs slipped down to fifth in the fledgling SPL table after they were unable to bounce back from conceding twice inside the opening 15 minutes at New Douglas Park.

To compound their misery, they also had Colin Nish sent off for two bookable offences in the final seven minutes.

"We didn't turn up," fumed Hughes. "I picked my team and made sure I had some physical stuff in there, but we were second-best.

"Hamilton deserved to win the football match, which is disappointing for us.

"If we want to go where we want to go, the boys are going to have to do better than that.

"You're working with egos - guys who think they're better than they are - and for me that's a recipe for disaster."
