Hibs challenge Thomson

Hibernian manager John Collins had challenged Kevin Thomson to respond in a positive manner after being stripped of the club captaincy.

Thomson has been linked with a move away from Easter Road after an impressive opening half of the season much to the annoyance of Collins.

The 23-year-old was recently the subject of a combined £3million transfer approach along with team-mate Scott Brown, but the Hibs boss has urged the promising midfielder to concentrate on matters on the pitch.

"I think it is important for Kevin Thomson to focus on his own game," he said.

"I don't expect any problems with Kevin in the future and the most important thing is that he is on the park.

"I gave him my explanation, which is that I want to release him from anything else other than playing football and he accepted it."
