Hibs bid for Rochdale midfielder Jason Kennedy
Hibees chase Spotland player
According to Sky Sports, Hibs have tabled a bid for Rochdale midfielder Jason Kennedy.
The 26-year-old is out-of-contract at Spotland in the summer, and the Hibees coud tie the player on a pre-contract agreement before then.
Sky are reporting that both Hibs and Motherwell have made nominal fee offers for the player, and that Rochdale may accpet rather than lose their star player for nothing.
Carling Cup finalists Bradford City have also been credited with an interest in the player.
Kennedy is described as a combatitive midfielder which could suggest that Hibs have failed in their quest to extend the loan of Honduran Jorge Claros.
He started his career at Middlesbrough and played six times and managed to play during Boro's run to the Uefa Cup final in 2005/06, playing a full game against Litex Lovech meaning he landed a Uefa Cup runners-up medal in the process.
Kennedy then had a series of loan spells at Boston, Bury, Livingston and then Darlington.
He did enough at Darlington to land a permanet deal with the club. Playing over 50 games.
Rochdale then signed him on a two-year-deal and he has gone on to make over 160 appearances for the League Two side.
