Hibs appoint Jimmy Nicholl as Assistant Manager
Irishman leaves Killie and joins Easter Road coaching staff
Hibs have today confirmed the appointment of Jimmy Nicholl as Assistant Manager.
The former Raith Rovers and Millwall manager resigned from the same post at Kilmarnock yesterday, following the sacking of popular Killie boss Kenny Shiels.
Nicholl takes up the post that has been vacant since Billy Brown left Easter Road last summer.
The 73 times capped Northern Ireland international brings a wealth of experience to Easter Road, having also managed Cowdenbeath and been assistant manager at Aberdeen and Dunfermline in the past.
Hibs boss Pat Fenlon was delighted with the appointment, seaking to the official club website, he said:
"I am delighted to have such an experienced coach as my assistant. Jimmy has a deep knowledge of the game and of Scottish football in particular and will be a great asset to the Club. He is particularly good in the development of young players and this is another important factor for the Club."
Nicholl is also looking forward to his new job, he added:
"When Pat spoke of his plans for the Club it was an easy decision for me. I am delighted to be his assistant and hope to contribute to the on-going development and success of one of Scotland's leading clubs."
Nicholl takes over with immeadiate effect.
