Hibs: No Whittaker bids

Hibernian chairman Rod Petrie has dismissed talk of an approach from Rangers for full-back Steven Whittaker.

The highly-rated 22-year-old has been at Easter Road for five years, with his impressive displays drawing admiring glances from a number of other clubs.

However, Petrie told the Edinburgh Evening News: "We have had no bids or offers for Steven or anyone else and we are not looking for any.

"All discussions with John Collins are about bringing players in, not letting players go."
