Hibs youngster Sean Welsh has today joined Partick Thistle on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who had a training ground bust-up with teammate Martin Scott, that resulted in the youngster recieving a broken jaw, heads to the first division club to gain first team experience.

Welsh spent time on loan at Stiring Albion last season, playing 15 games and scoring 1 goal.

Jags boss Jackie McNamara said:

"Sean trained with us today and hopefully we can tie that deal up until the end of the season

"We have sent Johnny Lindsay out on loan to Brechin to get him some experience so that frees up a space in the squad to bring in Sean.

"He gives us another option in midfield, he is a good young player and has a lot of ability. I have admired him for quite a while.

"Sean has been about the first team at Hibs for quite a bit. He can play a few positions, he has good passing ability and can score a goal aswell from midfield which has kind of been lacking for us recently."
