Hibs youngster Scott Taggart joins Stranraer on loan

Defender out to gain some first experience Hibs boss Colin Calderwood has today revealed that young defender Scott Taggart has joined Stranraer on loan. The 19-year-old, who can play at right back or in midfield, and has so far played 3 times for the Hibees first team. Calderwood has decided a loan deal would help the player gain some much needed experience, with him being allowed to join the 3rd division side. Taggart, who was voted the Hibees Youth Academy Player of the Year in 2009/10, has joined the on a 3 month deal. He made his Hibees debut as a sub against Hamilton Accies in 2011, and also spent time on loan with Ayr Utd last season, playing six games. Calderwood was delighted to give the youngster a chance of first team football, he said: “Taggs has joined Stranraer on loan, which is terrific news for us, because it gives him games on a Saturday.”
