Hibs win Miller appeal

Hibernian have won their appeal against Liam Miller's dismissal in last Saturday's match at Kilmarnock. Miller was shown a straight red card by referee Craig Thomson for kicking the heels of Killie striker Conor Sammon in the 2-1 defeat. But the offence has now been downgraded to a caution by the Scottish Football Association's disciplinary department and Miller will therefore be free from suspension and available to play against Aberdeen on Boxing Day. After a lengthy delay with deliberations over whether the foul was inside or outside the box, referee Thomson consulted his assistant and the fourth official before Miller was sent off. The offence was deemed to be violent conduct, with Hibs therefore able to appeal the charge.
