Hibs boss Pat Fenlon is now expected to turn his attention to free agent Tomáš Černý, after missing out of Dusan Pernis.
27-year-old Černý is currently without a club, after he was released by Hamilton Accies in February, because they couldn't afford to pay for the rehab on an injury at that time.
Černý is now injury free and is on the radar of a number of clubs, with Aberdeen, Kilmarnock & St Mirren linked with the Czech keeper.
The Hibees currently have no keeper in place for next season, following the release of Graham Stack, and the on going silence regarding out-of-contract Mark Brown, who has still not signed a new deal at Easter Road.
Černý started his career with Sigma Olomouc in his homeland, but was then loaned out Hamilton Accies in the Scottish First division.
Following an outsanding season with Hamilton, that resulted in their promotion, he signed a permanent 2-year-deal with the then new SPL club.
He played nearly 150 games over his two spells at New Douglas Park.
Černý has also been capped 8 times for the Czech U21's.
