Lithuanian striker becomes latest victim of cull at Easter Road Lithuanian striker Valdas Trakys has today become the latest player to be told he can leave Easter Road. The 32-year-old was signed under freedom of contract by former boss John Hughes, but has only played 9 games for the club since signing, and has failed to find the net. Trakys joined the Hibees after his release from Greek side Panserraikos, who breached the players contract, allowing him to find a new club. The Hibees were the 6ft 2in striker's 15th club of his career, and he will now be free to pursue club number 16. Trakys has become the latest player to be culled from the Easter Road squad, with a number of high profile players leaving, as boss Colin Calderwood re-builds the Leith side. Lee Currie, Chris Hogg, Merouane Zemmama, Jonathan Grounds and Sol Bamba all left the club in January. Colin Nish, John Rankin, Kevin McBride, Ewan Moyes, Thomas Flynn and now Trakys have all been told they are free to leave in the summer. A number of other players are expected to leave the club in the summer, with Steven Thicot, Graeme Smith, Graham Stack and Edwin De Graaf expected to lead the way.
