Irish youngster heads out the door. According to press reports, Hibs youngster Kurtis Byrne is the latest player to be told he can leave the club at the end of the season. The 21-year-old Irish striker is currently on loan at second division side Alloa Athletic, and has already spent time on loan in the 2nd division this season with East Fife. So far he is yet to make an appearance with Alloa having joined them until the end of the season, but he impressed while with East Fife earlier this season. He scored 9 goals in in 15 appearances while at Bayview. Byrne also spent time on loan with 1st division side Stirling Albion last season, scoring 1 goal in 4 games for the club. Byrne has played 7 games for the Hibees without finding the net. He becomes the latest player to be heading out the door at Easter Road, with Chris Hogg, Merouane Zemmma, Jonathan Grounds, Lee Currie and Sol Bamba all leaving in January. Kevin McBride, Colin Nish, Valdas Trakys, Graeme Smith, John Rankin, Ewan Moyes, Thomas Flynn and now Byrne all being told they can leave the club in the summer when their contract expires. A number of other Hibs players are out-of-contract in the summer, with a few more expected to follow the exodus out of the club. Byrne signed for the Hibees in 2007 from Norwich City as a 17-year-old but has failed to make a massive impression on the first team. Byrne scored the winning goals in both the U19 Cup Final at Hampden against Rangers, East of Scotland Shield Final and also scored the goal that secured the League Title on the final day of the season. He was part of the clubs U19 side that completed the treble two seasons ago, winning the SPL U19 League, The U19 Scottish Cup and the East of Scotland Shield. Hibernian-Mad would like to take this oppertunity to wish Kurtis all the very best for the future.
