Ghana international signs on at Easter Road Hibs have tonight confirmed the signing of Ghana international striker Junior Agogo. The 31-year-old has spent the last two weeks on trial at Easter Road, and has done enough to earn a 1-year-deal with the club. Agogo has played under Colin Calderwood previously, when the Hibs boss was manager of Nottingham Forest. The experienced striker has played all over the world, including Cyprus, U.S.A, England and Egypt. He has played for the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest and Zamalek SC. Agogo adds some much needed depth to a Hibs squad currently short on numbers, especially the forward line, with Akpo Sodje currently injured, it left Garry O’Connor as the only fit striker at Easter Road. Hibs boss Calderwood was delighted to land the player, he told the official club website: "We are really pleased to be able to add Junior to the squad. He is a proven goalscorer and a strong character and he has already settled into Hibernian life in the two weeks he has been on trial with the club. "Junior never gets fazed by challenges and he will add another dimension to our attacking arsenal. I'm sure the fans will take to him and that his arrival will further strengthen our attacking options." Agogo was also delighted to be joining the Hibees, also speaking to the official club website, he added: "As soon as Colin told me about the opportunity, there was only one club that I wanted to sign for and that was Hibernian. "I've enjoyed every minute of my time at Hibernian so far and the atmosphere within the squad is both positive and ambitious. "I know what Colin wants from his players and I am aiming to deliver committed displays and goals to the team. "I've not played in Scotland before, but I'm really looking forward to the challenge ahead." A fourth summer signing has been a long time coming, as the Hibees endured a poor pre-season, with little in the way of positive transfer news, and also the saga surrounding manager Colin Calderwood. All we need now is another forward, a right back, a creative midfielder and maybe another central defender and we maybe ok!!!
