Irish striker joins

Hibs have secured their second signing of the day, with the capture of Killie forward Paul Heffernan.

The 31-year-old has signed a two-year-deal at Easter Road and joins for a nominal fee.

The former Sheffield Wednesday and Bristol City striker becomes Pat Fenlon's 11th summer capture.

Heffernan has scored over 100 goals in his career, and brings more experience to the Hibees forward line.

"I'm excited about starting the next chapter of my career at Hibernian, hopefully my time with the club will be successful.

"I spoke to both Michael (Nelson) and Tim (Clancy) about coming here, and they encouraged me to join.

"It's a good club, with a big support - I saw that at the cup tie at Rugby Park last season - and I'm looking forward to playing for Hibs."

Welcome aboard Paul.
