Hibs lodge appeal against Miller red card

Hibernian have lodged an appeal against Liam Miller`s dismissal during their weekend defeat by Kilmarnock.

Miller was shown a straight red card for kicking the heels of Conor Sammon as the Killie striker ran into the penalty box.

Referee Craig Thomson deemed his offence violent conduct, which surprised Hibs manager Colin Calderwood.

The Scottish Football Association`s disciplinary department are hoping to process the appeal on Wednesday.

A panel will decide Miller`s fate if Thomson decides he might have been too harsh.

Meanwhile, Hibs midfielder Merouane Zemmama is closing in on full fitness following the cruciate ligament damage he suffered in March.

The 27-year-old told Hibernian TV: "I'm nearly fit. I've started to fully train with the boys and I feel great.

"I've worked very hard and the physios and fitness staff have worked very hard with me.

"Everything has gone okay and now I'm looking forward to playing some bounce games before playing again."
