Experienced player on Fenlon's radar

Hibs have tonight been linked with a move for Hull City midfielder James Harper.

The 31-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular first team place at the KC Stadium, and is looking to revive his career.

Harper has only made two appearances this season and is keen to leave Hull.

Hibs are said to be facing competition for his signature, with fellow SPL side St Johnstone also keen on the player.

Harper started his career as a youth player with Arsenal, where he was loaned out for a short spell with Cardiff City in 2001.

He then moved on to Reading in 2001, for a fee in the region of £900,000.

Harper spent 9 years with Reading, making well over 330 appearances, scoring 35 goals.

In 2010 he then moved on for a short loan spell with Sheffield United, making 13 appearances.

He then made his loan move permanent, after impressing during his time at Bramall Lane.

After another short spell with Sheff Utd, he moved to current club Hull City.
