Hibs have had a £200,000 bid accepted for Swindon Town striker James Collins.

Collins, 22, is now talking to the Hibees about a move to Easter Road.

The Irish hitman scored 18 goals for the League One side last season, and Hibs boss Pat Fenlon is keen to secure the former Aston Villa trainee as his 8th summer signing.

Championship side Huddersfield Town are also said to be interested in the player.

6ft 2in Collins started his career with Aston Villa, he was loaned out to Burton Albion and Darlington Town, before a permanent move to Shrewsbury Town.

He then moved to Swindon Town, where he scored a hat-trick on his debut against Premiership side Stoke City in the League Cup.

Collins also scored four in a 5-0 win over Portsmouth last season.

Despite scoring 18 goals last season, Collins was in and out the Swindon side under managers Paulo Di Canio and Kevin MacDonald, and is said to have been keen to leave the County ground.
