Former Ross County man fined for punch-up with Sean Welsh. Hibs have today confirmed that Martin Scott has been fined, following a training ground bust-up with fellow midfielder Sean Welsh. Welsh squared up to Scott after a tackle in training, which ended up with Scott punching the youngster in the face, causing a fractured cheekbone. Despite the initial success of the operation, Welsh was then floored by an infection that threatened his eyesight, and had to endure a further two operations, but, thankfully, he is now been given the all clear to start the healing process. Welsh faces at least another four weeks out of action, and has NOT been fined for his part in the bust-up, after an internal operation. The amount Scott has been fined has not been revealed, but Hibs boss Colin Calderwood said: "Sean has had his operation. "He's out of hospital now but it hasn't worked at all well for him. "He had an infection and it's been very, very messy. I think he'll be another four to six weeks from now."They had to go in and do some work on the bone around the eye. "But the surgeons were delighted with how he's come out of this last one and they don't envisage anything else going forward, and that everything will be okay."The disciplinary issue is done and dusted, the fine has been administered and Martin knows that. Only Martin was fined."
