Canadian defender to spend more time at East Mains

Hibs boss Pat Fenlon has today revealed that Canadian trialist Nana Attakora will spend more time at East Mains.

The 6ft 3in central defender has spent the last week or so training at the Hibees £5m training facility, in an effort win a deal.

The 22-year-old has impressed Fenlon enough to be offered a longer stay in the Scottish capital.

Attakora has just seen his contract with MLS side San Jose Earthquakes expire, and despite being offered a renewal, is keen to explore his options.

He started his career with Toronto FC in 2007, winning 3 Canadian Championships, before moving to San Jose in 2011.

Attakora has been capped at every international level from U17 to full, and has been voted Canadian U20 Player of the Year two years in succession, 2008 & 2009.

Hibs boss Pat Fenlon said:

“We’ve had a few trialists in and we’ll continue to look at players in relation to moving on looking to the future.”
