Wee Ivan heading home?? It’s been revealed tonight that Hibs have entered talks with former winger Ivan Sproule. The 30-year-old is nearing the end of his deal with Bristol City, and was in Edinburgh today for talks with Hibees boss Colin Calderwood. Sproule joined the Ashton Gate club in 2007 from the Hibees in a £500,000 deal, playing regularly for the Championship side as they made the play-offs. The electric paced Northern Ireland internationalist has fallen out-of-favour with Bristol City, and has spent two spells out on loan, firstly with Yeovil Town, and more recently with Notts County. It seems Sproule is now on the verge of a return to Easter Road in the summer, a move which will please a lot of Hibs fans, as Sproule is still held in high regard in Edinburgh. He was part of the Hibees 2007 League Cup winning side, and of course, scored a famous 30 minute hat-trick at Ibrox against Rangers as Hibs won 3-0, after coming off the bench. Sproule has already stated that he would jump at the chance at move back to Edinburgh, after press talk that a loan return was on the cards in January. Hibs boss Colin Calderwood will re-build the Easter Road side this summer, with NINE players already told they can leave, and a number more expected to be told their career with the club is over. Calderwood also sent five players out the exit door in January, as he stopped the rot and pulled the club away from the SPL relegation zone.
