Hibs defender Kevin McCann joins Inverness Caley on loan
Injury plauged youngster off to the highlands. Hibs have today allowed full back Kevin McCann to join Inverness Caledonian Thistle on loan. He will stay with Terry Butcher’s side until January. The 22-year-old has pretty much spent the last 2 years out, due to a number of different injuries, most notably tendonitis in his knee. McCann broke through as a youngster from the Hibees famed youth set-up, and looked destined for huge things after a superb debut against Aberdeen during the 2007/08 season under former boss John Collins. Former Scotland U20 and U21 international McCann last played for the Hibees, in the very first game of last season against St Mirren, but was subsequently injured again and didn’t play another game last season. The highlight of McCann’s time at Easter Road was playing his part as the club lifted the 2007 Scottish League Cup, coming off the bench in the 5-1 rout over Kilmarnock at Hampden in the final. He also scored a 30 yard peach against Rangers in the SPL that shouldn’t be forgotten. The move to Caley Thistle will be good for the youngster as he looks for fitness, and the chance to prove his worth to manager John Hughes. McCann has played 34 games for Hibs, scoring 3 goals.
