According to the west caost press today, Hibs boss Pat Fenlon is close to making his first signing of the summer.

Partick Thistle midfielder Paul Cairny is said to be at an advanced stage in talks with the Hibs hierarchy about a pre-contract agreement.

The attacking midfielder scored 15 goals for the Jags last season, includng a hat-trick last week against Dundee, and did it in front of Fenlon, who was at the game to wath him.

The 24-year-old has also just been named first division Player of the month for April this week.

Hibs boss Fenlon is apparently keen to tie up the deal this week, so the player can travel with the first team squad as they head to Hampden to face Hearts in the 2012 Scottish Cup Final a week on Saturday

Cairney, of course, would be unable to play for the Hibees at the showpiece final, as the transfer window is not open,
