Hibs break duck

02 February 2011 23:00
Derek Riordan and David Wotherspoon ended Hibernian's search for a first goal of 2011 and a first win since November as their second-half strikes secured a valuable Clydesdale Bank Premier League win over St Mirren. Riordan's 63rd-minute strike was Hibs' first goal since the 2-2 draw with Dundee United on December 29 and Wotherspoon added a second in stoppage time to end a 12-match winless run. The result handed manager Colin Calderwood a record of three wins and 12 losses from 18 matches in charge. St Mirren, who began the evening two points and a place above Hibs in the SPL table, fell to 11th in the table after struggling to test Hibs' vulnerable defence. The Buddies are now four points above bottom club Hamilton having played a game more. Accies have two games in hand on Hibs.
