Hibs announce season ticket cuts

15 April 2009 15:39
Hibs made the announcement in the wake of a recent summit at Easter Road in which they and their SPL rivals discussed how best to handle the economic downturn. Season ticket prices will start at just £30 for children, equivalent to little more than £1.50 per match at Easter Road. Adult prices start at £225 although around three quarters of season ticket holders take advantage of the club's discounted family or concession pricing. Hibs have also introduced a new scheme offering a £50 reward for current season ticket holders who persuade a fellow fan to sign up for the new season. Chief executive Scott Lindsay said: "The current economic environment is challenging for everyone, and by rolling back rather than increasing or simply freezing prices, the club wants to make football as affordable as possible for season ticket members at Easter Road Stadium." Hibs' announcement comes in the same week Edinburgh rivals Hearts announced their prices for next season, which saw increases in some areas and reductions in others, while Motherwell on Tuesday declared a price freeze on season tickets.
