Leigh Griffiths will serve a one-match suspension after Hibernian declined the opportunity to contest the charge imposed after the striker made an offensive gesture in last Saturday's match with Rangers.
Hibs accepted the ban proposed by the Scottish Football Association and, instead of being the subject of a disciplinary tribunal on Thursday, Griffiths, who is on loan from Wolves, will miss Saturday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League fixture with Aberdeen.
A statement on official club website www.hibernianfc.co.uk read: "Hibernian FC confirmed today (Tuesday) it would not be appealing the notice of complaint issued by the Scottish FA compliance officer against Leigh Griffiths and would accept the one-match suspension offered."
Rangers won the match at Easter Road 2-0, Nikica Jelavic scoring twice after Griffiths had missed a golden opportunity to fire Hibs in front when the match was goalless.
A low cross from the Hibs left evaded Lee Wallace and found Griffiths six yards out, but he scuffed his shot.
The 21-year-old, who moved to Wolves from Dundee in January and is set to return to Molineux next month unless Hibs can extend his stay, found himself in trouble when a gesture he made to Rangers' fans was caught by the television cameras.
SFA compliance officer Vincent Lunny determined Griffiths had breached rule 200, and with "offensive, insulting or abusive gestures" deemed a sending-off offence, the striker will now be suspended for the trip to Pittodrie.
St Johnstone manager Steve Lomas earlier this month was confined to the stand for the win at Hearts, having accepted a one-match touchline ban for making an offensive gesture in his first game in charge, which was also against Rangers.
