Craig keen to end drought

Hibernian midfielder Liam Craig admits he is desperate to end his eight-game scoring drought - even if it means shooting down former club St Johnstone.

The 26-year-old started off his Easter Road career in promising fashion as his first dozen appearances saw him rack up a goal every two games.

But he has not scored since sweeping home a spectacular last-minute winner against Partick Thistle at Firhill in early October.

His former Perth employers visit Edinburgh on Saturday and Craig insists he would be happy to end that luckless run as soon as possible.

Craig, who has reverted to his favoured central role since Terry Butcher took over in Leith last month, told HibsTV: "I'm just delighted to be playing. However I'm a bit disappointed that it's been a while since I have scored and it's something I'm looking to put right as soon as I can.

"The main thing though is that the team is doing well and that we are getting results."

Defender Tim Clancy moved a step closer to a first-team return.

The Irishman played 90 minutes in a 6-1 midweek under-20s victory over Aberdeen as he continues to come back from a long-term groin injury.

Defender James McPake (back), striker Paul Heffernan (thigh) and winger Alex Harris (ankle) are still out.

St Johnstone have loaned Liam Caddis to Alloa.

Recent signing Lee Croft and fit-again defender Steven Anderson both come into contention after proving their fitness.

Steven MacLean remains on the sidelines with a knee injury and fellow striker Rory Fallon is suspended.
