Hibernian midfielder Jorge Claros will remain on loan with the club for the remainder of the season.

The Edinburgh club have struck with a deal with the Honduras international's parent club, Montagua, to extend his stay until May.

"I'm very happy to be staying with Hibs," said Claros, who has made 37 appearances for Hibs since joining a year ago.

"I've enjoyed my time at the club and believe I've improved as a player. My family also feel settled here in Edinburgh and that was a very important factor for me.

"Now the loan deal has been sorted I'm looking forward to helping Hibs enjoy a strong finish to the season."

Manager Pat Fenlon has been busy this month, securing extensions to similar loan deals with striker Leigh Griffith and Ryan McGivern while also landing Scott Robertson from Blackpool. Fenlon said:

"It was always our intention to keep all our loan players at the club, so the fact Jorge is staying is a real positive.

"We've managed to keep Jorge, Leigh and Ryan while also adding Scott. That's four international players, so it has been a productive transfer window."
