Neil Lennon and Hibernian stunned by Queen of the South

Lyndon Dykes ensured there was no Betfred Cup glory for Hibernian boss Neil Lennon as Queen of the South launched a second-half blitz to book their place in the quarter-finals with a 3-1 win.

Queens went in at the break trailing to Paul Hanlon's 22nd-minute strike and were still behind as the clock ticked around to the 66th minute.

However, substitute Dean Brotherson made an instant impact when his cross was turned home by Stephen Dobbie, and there was better to come for the visitors.

They took the lead with eight minutes remaining when Grant Anderson headed home, and then dispatched Ladbrokes Championship rivals and last season's beaten finalists four minutes later when Dobbie played in Dykes and he made no mistake from eight yards.
