Hibees sweating on Riordan fitness

Striker Riordan was sent home from training on Tuesday in a bid to prevent the illness spreading to his team-mates. The 26-year-old is Hibs' top scorer this season with three goals in four games and manager John Hughes will be keen for him to be involved at New Douglas Park this weekend. Hughes said in the Edinburgh Evening News: "You could see Derek was really struggling, a bit 'chesty'. He seemed to have flu-like symptoms and we didn't want to run the risk of whatever it is running through the squad, so we sent him home. "There seems to be some sort of bug going about and, while we'll leave it up to Derek to decide when he feels well enough to return to training, we'll hopefully see him back tomorrow." Hughes also revealed defender Sol Bamba has been sent for a scan on his knee after returning from international duty with the Ivory Coast. He said: "Sol's been feeling it for a wee while but felt it tighten a bit. He had a scan last night but it's come back clear, which is good news because Sol has possibly been our best player so far this season." Hughes is resigned to being without full-back Kevin McCann, whose comeback from 15 months out with a knee injury on the opening day of the season ended with him picking up a hamstring strain. "What's happened is just a part of his body getting back up to speed," Hughes added.
