Ex pub team manager impressed by Hibs Former Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo has today announced that he would have jumped at the chance to manage the Hibees. Hibs are currently without a boss after parting company with John Hughes last week, following a terrible run of only 4 wins in 28 games. A number of candidates have been linked, or applied for the job, including Steve Clarke, Nevio Scala, Michael O’Neill, Jimmy Calderwood, Paul Hart and Billy Reid. Now Laszlo, who took over Belgian side RSC Charleroi two weeks ago, has said he would have loved to take over at Easter Road. He said: “Would I have been interested if I was still in Edinburgh and didn’t have a job? Yes definitely! “Hibs are a very interesting club. “I have every respect for the Hibs chairman. I have every respect for the football team they have there as well. “They have a very sound financial base, they have a good infrastructure, probably the best in Scotland outside Celtic and Rangers. “They’ve recently finished building their stadium, they have their own academy and are based in a very good city. “I have a good relationship with the people of Edinburgh, especially the football fans. “The Jambo fans loved me but I think the Hibs fans accepted me as well. I think because of this it could perhaps have worked.” Er, no thanks Csaba.
