Hibernian manager John Collins has admitted he may sell David Murphy amid speculation linking the defender with a move away from Easter Road.
The left-back is believed to be interesting Wigan Athletic and Birmingham City and Collins has suggested the former Middlesbrough player could return south of border.
"David has said he would like to go back down south at some stage," conceded Collins.
"He's given us three-and-a-half years so far and given us good service.
"He's under contract for another two and a half seasons and he'll not let his contract run out. That's not going to happen.
"Nobody has got a crystal ball, we'll see what the future holds. I hope it's later rather than sooner he goes."
