Caretaker pair continue at Hibs

Hibernian have confirmed that Alistair Stevenson and Gareth Evans will prepare the team for the Clydesdale Bank Premier League game against Kilmarnock on Saturday. Under-19 coach Stevenson and first-team coach Evans have been conducting training sessions following the departure of manager John Hughes and assistant Brian Rice at the beginning of last week. Stevenson is also scheduled to meet the media on Thursday in Hibernian's weekly preview press conference. The announcement suggests the Hibs board will continue to take their time over appointing a replacement for Hughes, who led the club into Europe in his first season in charge but paid the price for a run of one win in 10 games this term. Reports have claimed that Hibs are considering a move for Brazilian coach Baltemar Brito, who assisted Jose Mourinho at Porto and Chelsea. Another former Chelsea coach, Steve Clarke, has also been linked with the job along with Shamrock Rovers manager Michael O'Neill. Hibs are also reported to have pulled back from an approach to former Rangers manager Paul Le Guen.
