Calderwood seeks perfect balance

Colin Calderwood is looking for the balance between defence and attack as Hibernian aim to end a long wait without a league win at Easter Road.[LNB] Hibs have not gained three points in the SPL since February and had to come from two down to force a 3-3 draw against Dundee United on Saturday, with strikers Garry O'Connor and Junior Agogo on target.[LNB]Their previous home match was a drab goalless draw against Aberdeen and Calderwood is now aiming to combine the positive facets of both games when St Johnstone visit on Wednesday night.[LNB]"The positive side of a 3-3 draw is obviously the fact our strikers are doing well," said Calderwood, who has a concern over a foot knock picked up by Leigh Griffiths on Saturday.[LNB]"I think there's good combinations with the ball and they're starting to link in more and more together.[LNB]"You can see it developing through the games which is backing up what we've seen at the training ground.[LNB]"Things have steadied a little bit. We haven't been defeated and we've scored enough goals to win games, and we've been involved in exciting games.[LNB]"We were pretty solid against Aberdeen but not effective enough at the other end.[LNB]"And when we've been effective at the other end we've been extravagant defensively![LNB]"We haven't got the balance but we've shown on occasions we can do both ends of the game.[LNB]"If we can marry the two of them together it would definitely help."[LNB]St Johnstone will prove a tough test of Hibernian's gradual improvement with the Perth side yet to concede a goal in four away matches this season.[LNB]St Johnstone followed wins at Celtic Park and Motherwell with a comfortable 2-0 home win over Hearts on Saturday.[LNB]Calderwood said: "St Johnstone are in good form with two excellent results recently.[LNB]"Every game is tough, and I think their form just adds to it. But it also adds to the scalp if we win.[LNB]"They've been excellent away from home defensively and that's something we've got to break."[LNB]
