Calderwood relief as Hibs grind out win

Hibernian manager Colin Calderwood hailed his side's grit and determination after they further eased their relegation fears with a 1-0 win at St Mirren Park. Francis Dickoh nodded the only goal in the 87th minute after Paul Hanlon had headed Callum Booth's corner into the goalmouth. The game appeared to be drifting towards a goalless draw but Dickoh's late intervention means Hibernian have now won three consecutive Clydesdale Bank Premier League games and are 11 points above bottom club Hamilton. Calderwood, whose team started their winning run against St Mirren at home, said: "It's decisive in the short term that we've taken six off St Mirren and got ourselves ahead of them. "It's a big lift for us because if it had gone the other way, the situation would have been a crisis point. "It was a gritty performance, there was nothing that really flowed. But they dug in and they were still in the game last four minutes, we got a set play and we scored from it."
