Calderwood pledges future to Hibs

Colin Calderwood insists he is committed to Hibernian amid rumours of a move to West Brom. Calderwood has been linked a switch to the Baggies as Chris Hughton's assistant if the former Newcastle boss takes charge at The Hawthorns. The former Scotland defender moved to Easter Road last October after working at Newcastle alongside Hughton - linked with succeeding Roberto Di Matteo - including last season when the Magpies earned promotion to the Barclays Premier League. But Calderwood, who has three wins from 18 games in charge of Hibs, said he was unaware of the speculation until Thursday morning and believes it is purely people putting two and two together. Calderwood, whose side are 10th in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, said: "I want to stay. It's not even a decision for anyone at the minute. It's a story in the paper. I speak to Chris regularly and I don't think he's even got the job yet. I'm sure he'll be a good and worthy favourite for the job - as it seems at the minute - so it will be interesting to see what transpires from here." Calderwood maintained he has ambitions for Hibs and has not contemplated moving to West Brom and added: "I haven't really thought about it. I'm thoroughly enjoying my time. I'm looking forward to really getting my teeth in to what I think is a terrific opportunity for myself, the same as it was when I joined."
