Calderwood intrigued by Dons clash

Colin Calderwood believes Hibernian face something of an unknown quantity against Aberdeen as he prepares to take on Craig Brown for the second time in six weeks. Calderwood steered Hibs to a 2-1 victory over Motherwell but now faces his former Scotland boss Brown, who will be taking charge of the Dons for the first time since succeeding Mark McGhee earlier this month. "It's an intriguing one," Calderwood said. "You've got no idea of formation or personnel. "They only viewed the game against Hearts so it's not even like the start of the season because you would have had some pre-season reports." Calderwood, whose spell as Hibs manager began with a 4-2 loss at Aberdeen, was not surprised to see Brown and his assistant Archie Knox - assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson as the Dons enjoyed domestic and European success in the 1980s - move to Pittodrie. "It's obviously something that's really tweaked his interest buds and his enthusiasm for it," Calderwood said. "I can understand why they've ended up there. Obviously Archie's got an association there. It's a terrific job."
