Hibernian manager Colin Calderwood praised his team's work ethic but admitted their goalless draw against Aberdeen fell well short on entertainment value.
Hibs stayed bottom of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League after struggling for invention in the final third against the Dons, who have now failed to score in six of their seven SPL games.
Calderwood said: "There wasn't enough quality from us but we probably had more shots on target and off target."
He added: "But that's not enough, there was nothing clear cut. There was one big opportunity off one cross from Leigh Griffiths when he first came on.
"Have we earned the victory? No we haven't but we certainly dug in and earned a point."
Aberdeen manager Craig Brown felt his side should have won.
"I don't think it was a game for the purist," said Brown, who argued his side should have had a penalty when Sean O'Hanlon bundled Scott Vernon over in the third minute.
"We got a clean sheet, we defended in resilient fashion. You could see our problem because we had enough chances there.
"They probably fell to the wrong people, Richard Foster could have had a hat-trick.
"We had the chances in the game, I didn't think at any point we were going to lose a goal."
