Calderwood happy to halt slide

Manager Colin Calderwood was thrilled as Hibernian claimed a first win since November with a 2-0 victory over fellow Clydesdale Bank Premier League strugglers St Mirren at Easter Road. Second-half goals from Derek Riordan - his ninth of the season and Hibs' first goal of 2011 - and David Wotherspoon earned the hosts a first victory since November 13 and took Calderwood's record to three wins and 12 losses from 18 matches in charge. Calderwood said: "It was a bit nervy on occasions but the experience of our bad experiences certainly helped. I'm delighted for the group because they're the ones who have really been under the spotlight and had question marks about them. "They tried as hard as they've tried in the other games. There's a nice feeling in the dressing room, terrific togetherness by the players." Calderwood added: "That is the level they've got to be at. We were maybe slightly unlucky not to score in the first half but they stayed in the game and we scored the first goal - all the things that we speak about when we've had the defeats. I think they made the big difference."
