Calderwood expecting busy January

Manager Colin Calderwood anticipates a busy month at Hibernian in January.

With the transfer window set to open on New Year's Day, the Hibs boss has yet to line-up the capture of any players, but could explore the loan market in England as well as making permanent additions to his squad. Recruiting players, though, is not dependent on offloading them first.

"It'll be interesting to see if there are any enquiries for our boys," he said.

"Through the contractual process we've talked to a fair number now. I'd imagine there might be one or two go, but it will always be our decision in the end."

In terms of the prospect of new recruits arriving, Calderwood is preparing to test the availability of players he believes could bolster his squad.

"We've identified ones we'd like and there are ones we'd like and we might be able to get easier," added the former Nottingham Forest and Northampton boss.

"You concentrate on them, but always doing background work if the ones you don't think are available suddenly become available.

"That's why you've got the whole of January to do it."
