Calderwood committed to Hibs

Colin Calderwood has insisted he is committed to Hibernian following speculation he could move to West Brom as Chris Hughton's assistant if the former Newcastle boss takes charge at The Hawthorns.

Calderwood moved to Easter Road last October after working alongside Hughton - linked with succeeding Roberto Di Matteo - at Newcastle, including last season when the Magpies earned promotion to the Barclays Premier League.

"I want to stay. It's not a question - I don't even see it as a question at the minute," said Calderwood.

"It's not even a decision for anyone at the minute. Apart from the fact there's an obvious link between us.

"I haven't heard anything at all. It's a story in the paper.

"I speak to Chris regularly and I don't think he's even got the job yet.

"I'm sure he'll be a good and worthy favourite for the job - as it seems at the minute - so it will be interesting to see what transpires from here."

Calderwood maintained he has ambitions for Hibs and has not contemplated moving to West Brom.

He added: "I haven't really thought about it.

"I'm thoroughly enjoying my time. I'm looking forward to really getting my teeth in to what I think is a terrific opportunity for myself - the same as it was when I joined."
