Calderwood challenges Hibs winners

Manager Colin Calderwood has called on his Hibernian squad to extend their four-match winning run, beginning with their Scottish Premier League clash at Hamilton on Tuesday night.

Hibs beat Inverness 2-0 last Saturday to take a 100% record from four games in February - having been without a win in the previous 12 outings - and ease fears of relegation from the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.

He said: "We've had a nice month, a good run, but we've had the advantage of being at home and now we've got to go and do what we did at St Mirren and graft and earn and deserve points."

He added: "We have to continue to take points; it's about trying to win the next one.

"If we could take points in the next two games away from home it will certainly ease us away from the bottom of the league and Hamilton.

"That's a starting point for the game - we've got to make sure we don't give them any encouragement because I believe at some point they're going to put a couple of wins together and we've got to make sure we've got enough of a gap to be away from them.

"Everyone's out to win the game and we know the threat and we know the danger.

"It's coping with it and being able to deal with the minimal success we've had in this short period.

"You've got to deal with the ups and downs. The last four games have become an up for us and you've got to handle that.

"It's a game which gives us the ideal opportunity to bridge a gap."
