Boro cool Brown talk

Middlesbrough have admitted they are interested in signing Hibenrian midfielder Scott Brown but inisist no bid has been made for the 21-year-old.

The Scotland international, who has made 131 appearances for the SPL outfit, has been linked with a move to the Riverside Stadium, and Boro admit that have held initial talks with Hibernian about their player.

"Despite suggestions to the contrary, we have not made a bid for Scott Brown," chief executive Keith Lamb told the club's official website.

"We have had discussions with Hibernian about the player, but he is one of many on Gareth Southgate's list of potential targets."
