Bhoys bid for Fletcher rejected

Hibs confirmed they had received a verbal approach from another SPL for their star striker, who is under contract at Easter Road until 2013.[LNB]A statement on the Edinburgh side's official website read: "Hibernian FC today rejected a verbal approach from an SPL club to discuss the potential transfer of Steven Fletcher.[LNB]"No further discussion is planned."[LNB]Despite Hibs' official line, there have been reports they may accept a bid in the region of £3million for the 21-year-old Scotland forward.[LNB]There are also rumours Celtic could be offering a player-plus-cash deal for Fletcher, who has scored six goals this season.[LNB]Last term's Scottish Football Writers' young player of the year was linked with a host of clubs in the summer, including Real Madrid and Middlesbrough.[LNB]If he was to make the short journey to Glasgow, he would join up with former Hibs team-mates Scott Brown and Gary Caldwell at Celtic Park.[LNB]He would also link up with Flood, who on Friday completed his move to the Hoops on a two-and-a-half-year contract.[LNB][LNB]
