Adams not thinking of relegation

Assistant manager Derek Adams has denied Hibernian are in a relegation battle as they prepare to meet the Clydesdale Bank Premier League's bottom two clubs in the next week.

Weather permitting, ninth-placed Hibs are set to meet Hamilton on Wednesday night and Aberdeen on Boxing Day, looking to add to their five-point cushion at the foot of the table.

"It's a long campaign and a lot of things can unfold now until the end of the season - we're only halfway through," said Adams, who was appointed Colin Calderwood's number two last month.

He added: "It's always important to get back into games as quickly as possible. We'll have to wait and see if the Hamilton game's on because of the weather conditions.

"We're preparing for another game with another three points at stake.

"We've got a lot of games in a short space of time and it's important that we pick up as many points as we possibly can."

Accies' match at home to Celtic was last Saturday postponed due to a burst pipe at New Douglas Park and a quick repair and improved conditions will be required for the fixture to take place.

Meanwhile Hibs hope Liam Miller's controversial red card at Killie will be rescinded.

Adams said Hibs were planning to appeal the charge of violent conduct which saw Miller sent off at Rugby Park.
