Adams makes Hibs switch

Hibernian have appointed Ross County boss Derek Adams as assistant to manager Colin Calderwood. Calderwood, who secured his first points in charge with a 3-0 win at Clydesdale Bank Premier League champions Rangers on Wednesday night, confirmed the appointment on Thursday. Adams moves to Easter Road after Hibs reached an agreement with County to release him from his contract. The 35-year-old, who became County boss in October 2007, led the Dingwall side to promotion to the Irn Bru First Division in 2008 and the Scottish Cup final in May. But now he has stepped up to the top flight to assist Calderwood, who succeeded John Hughes as boss last month. Adams said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to come to a club of the stature of Hibernian. In particular I'm looking forward to working closely with Colin Calderwood and the talented group of players at the club."
