Favre savours Hertha success

Hertha Berlin coach Lucien Favre was elated after seeing his side rise to the top of the Bundesliga table with a 2-1 home victory over reigning champions Bayern Munich.

Two goals from Andriy Voronin gave Hertha a famous victory and left Favre to praise all associated with the Olympiastadion outfit.

He told the club's official website: "We performed well as a unit. Everyone contributed to the victory and battled well.

"After the equaliser life became tough for us as Bayern created some chances, but our defence was solid today and we scored from a superb counter-attack.

"I have to say this is the best day I've had since coming to Hertha. It's just fantastic and I'm truly delighted.

"We were a unit out on the pitch. The 2-1 scoreline wasn't undeserved."
