Berlin Back on Track

Wednesday Nov 09 2005 00:00

Hertha Berlins rough start to the season looks to be over following three straight wins in the UEFA Cup, Bundesliga and German Cup in the last 2 weeks.

After defeats to Bremen and Bielefeld, Falko Gotzs side dropped off the pace in the league, but a reaction in Sweden and a 3-1 win over Mainz allowed them to go into Wednesdays cup tie with Monchengladbach in positive mood, and that confidence will have been boosted even more by a 3-0 win.

Ellery Cairo shone in that 3-0 win and he will once again replace the injured Gilberto with Gotz unlikely to tinker with a winning side for the away game against Stuttgart, where Berlin last won in the 2000/01 season. Marcelinho silenced his critics with a brace last weekend and the Brazilian will be aiming to add to his tally of four goals this season with some more strikes.
