Turner explains Big Dave exit

Hereford United's director of football Graham Turner has admitted that his club had little option other than to allow midfielder Toumani Diagouraga to leave the club.

The 22-year-old has left Edgar Street to join Peterborough United, having impressed during two seasons with the Bulls.

Turner told the club's official website: "Without a doubt it's a big loss, but at the end of the season his agent made it clear he wanted to play in a higher league.

"It's that old adage, if they don't want to play for us any more it's time to move on.

"I don't mean that in a detrimental way towards Toumani, I think he gave good service to the club and we have got a fee for him.

"I made it clear from the outset that we didn't want him to go, we didn't want to sell him.

"If Toumani hadn't been adamant that he wanted to move then he would have been playing for us next season."
