Trewick happy with Walker

Hereford United manager John Trewick is confident that loan striker James Walker will prove to be a valuable addition to the Edgar Street squad.

The 21-year-old has joined the Bulls on a month's loan from Southend United, having slipped down the pecking order at Roots Hall in recent months.

Trewick told the Hereford Times: "James has found himself in a similar position at Southend to the one Gary Hooper was in.

"He is fourth or fifth choice striker down there, but he will link up with Craig King here and there will be plenty of energy, pace and endeavour, and ability as well up front."

Former Charlton trainee Walker has previously spent time on loan with Hartlepool United, Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient, Notts County and Yeovil Town.
